Thursday 17 Jan. dawned clear at -8 and rose to the mid-single digits. Wind was NNW @ 10-12 mph. We'd hunted this spot about six weeks ago. Wind direction and strength hadn't been as expected and neither was the kill total. On this day we'd have liked a more westerly direction, but it wasn't a deal breaker.
Crows trickled into us all day at a steady pace off their feeding grounds. Other than a few flurries, the shooting couldn't have been described as fast action. Many a crow came in the last couple hundred yards and I swore their wings had to be kicking up snow. It's always good when they act like their supposed to. There were a lot of soft shots until the last hour.
The flight back in was from the south, fairly high, and to our east. We got a good number coaxed down. Some dove in for good shots, some made a couple circles and didn't like it and some made the extra circle just into range. The ones that test a guys ability are the ones that plummet in and go streaking by. Full pattern one of them and they either tumble end over end while going by or fold up like a cheap tent and carry for another thirty yards. The shot to kill ratio definitely widened in the last hour.
It was a good day to be hunting. We ended up with 115.
Nice report and nice pictures and nice TPC. Those crows against that white snow sure to make for a nice picture. I bet those hard it birds really make a splash when they hit the snow.

You are correct Ted. I had one split when I left them for several days in sub-zero temperatures, and they get to flipping around on a windy day. Their portability far outweighs those drawbacks.

Yes randy, I had 6 and now down to 3. I can concur to being brittle in cold weather...as many here know this Canadian prairie boy hunts in some frigid weather. Portability wonderful and genius in my opinion, just wish they were made more robust and durable.
