Dale has been posting those great videos of his recent hunts that make me drool due to the long time since my last hunt. With our season ending soon, I finally dusted off some cobwebs and renewed some contacts relative to the strings of fish crows I've been mapping near our island.
Contacting 4 or 5 landowners for permission to hunt recently, I ran into one dead-end after another. These were fish crows, so I knew the hunting would be hard...just couldn't get excited until I saw those videos that Dale posted!
A friend had a property near the roost-to-dump trail and he agreed to let me hunt. We went out this morning and, as expected, it was slow and the crows were high. We managed to bring down only 10 crows (9 fish & 1 common), but that was enough to satisfy the yearning. Man, if feels good to connect with a long shot on a crow! Fun morning with no wind, 65 degrees and a pretty property.

Good to hear my videos have had a positive impact or a negative one if you happen to be a crow.
The untold story behind many crow hunts is the story of all the rejection a guy takes trying to get a spot to hunt in a preferred area. That task alone can take days and still be left not being able to gain access to the crows.
Boy it does feel good connecting with those long shots. The way I see it is that those are the smarta## crows that think they can circle just out side of gun range and I take great pleasure in giving them a one way trip to the ground.
Good report and glad to see you got after them.
