I'm 72 today and Dick will be 86 in October! We still both get around like the Durecell Bunny, we are very fortunate health wise. That is the key "to stay active and don't give in to it" like most folks do. If you have a real passion for something it keeps you always looking forward and preparing for the next season.
People ( most people ) who have no passion about anything don't last long after retirement. Guys like us who are all cut from the same cloth have that passion and usually live to be a ripe old age. Your partner reminds me a lot of me when I was his age; very hungry for some big shoots!
When you think about it we are very fortunate because most folks who have nothing going for them stay stuck in a rut there entire lives! All they have is there job and when they retire they are gone within 2 to 5 years. Guys like us a job is merely a means to an end, you can't wait to retire! I was lucky, I retired at 57 and my partner retired at 55 from the phone company. Like I have always said " you need the time, money, and know how " to hunt crows successfully.
