Here are some more photos for you guys.

The first photo was taken in February of 1975 in Kansas. 

The second photo was taken in January of 1983 in Kansas. 

The third photo was taken in November of 2001 in Kansas. 

The forth photo was taken in October of 1978 in Kansas. 

The sixth and seventh photo was taken in December of 1998 in Kansas. 

The 8th photo was taken in December of 2000 in Oklahoma. 

The 9th photo was taken in December of 1998 in Oklahoma.

Ok, I'm on a roll!

Here are some more.

Photo # 1 was taken in October of 1965 in South Dakota.

Photo # 2 was taken in January of 1972 in Kansas. 

Photo # 3 and 4 were taken in October of 2005 in Arkansas.

Photos # 5, 6 and 7 were taken in October of 2004 in Alabama.

Photo # 8 was taken in December of 2008 in Illinois. 

Photo # 9 was taken in December or January of 2008 in Kentucky off the Ohio River.

Amazing how many overlook wide open country when crow shooting. I've shot a bazillion crows in country where the tallest tree for miles around wasn't much taller than myself. Thanks for sharing the pics Bob...

  Did you get some good shooting this spring? Around here this years hatch is starting to feel their oats and are raising cane with whatever they can fight. Gets a guy itching for some action.

Randy, in photo # 2 that is my quail gun but I also used it on crows.

It is a 20 gauge Winchester model 21 bored WS - 1 and modified.

Bob,

 I thought that looked like a double gun. I'm not familiar with the model 21, but it's my understanding that they were of high quality. 

 That seems like an uncommon choke combination, but again, I don't know a lot about them.

Randy, you can order what ever chokes you want when they build a gun for you in the model 21.

Back in the mid 1950's you could buy a new one for about $ 350.00 now in the 20 gauge they are more than likely in the $ 3000.00 dollar range and up. They could very well be higher than that, I have not kept up on recent prices.

Randy, I just looked up some prices on the Winchester model 21.

The cheap ones start at $ 6000.00 and go as high as $ 59,000.00 depending on who engraves it.

Bob,

 I was wondering if special order was the case. Did you get the gun new?

 I can't think of a better way to put a high quality gun to use than on crows. 

 The value of those M21's are why I'm not very familiar with them.biggrin

Randy, my father was 40 years older than I so when he could no longer walk very far he gave that gun to me. He shot many a Bobwhite Quail with that gun in his prime.
