Got a call from a guy who had planted two food plots just two days ago for his deer hunting and already had some crows attacking his wheat and peas that had not yet sprouted. It didn't sound too promising, but inspecting the place at first light there were a handful of crows, so I told him we would give it a try. After all, he was very anxious and scheduling was tight for me. We set up our blind that evening and planned to meet the next morning (yesterday) for a quick hunt. As this hunt happened to be on my birthday, I thought it would be a great way to start off the first day of my 70th year on this earth!
The crows had found the plot and were coming in pretty well. We stayed there for about 4 hours and ended up with 54 crows. All but one or two were common crows. This guy is a new contact, so I fully expect to get calls from him in the future as he was very pleased with the results. See the attached photos (hope they display upright).
