It has been far too long since I posted a hunt report. So, here ya go.
The Michigan season ends 9-31 so this will be our last crow hunt of 2020. I had been seeing a decent amount of birds (for my corner of MI anyway) in this area, however, they were all spread out over a couple miles of ground. I was waiting to hunt these birds until the conditions changed in a way that congregated the birds. I scouted this past Tuesday morning and luck was in my favor. A nice section of hay was cut and the birds were gathered in & around it. I could not hunt until Saturday so I worried that the field was going to be well past peak, and it may have been. Nonetheless, my daughter and I had a good hunt for Michigan standards on Saturday. The weather was nice and many smiles prevailed. We ended the hunt with 32 crows.

The girl calling them in.
Look dad, watch me shoot the decoy!
That is my childhood BB gun purchased in 1985.
Feathers from a bird that got up close and personal.
First piebald of the season.
Top of wings.
Underside of wings.
My biggest smile of the hunt was watching the girl run across the field to dispatch a swiftly hopping cripple with her BB gun. That was entertaining. She is eager to shoot a real gun because "BB guns are not good for birds in the air." She is 10 so full power guns will come before we know it.
Good report...it’s always good when hunting with a kid!
Also, I’m impressed that you may have the answer to the sideways photos problem. Hope I can figure out how to insert them directly on the page rather than as an attachment.
