I have little doubt that I am in the majority here on Crowbusters patiently awaiting that special time of year, the time of year we all hold near and dear to our hearts. This of course, is when the guns, decoys and call are finally drug from their dark resting place for the summer and put back to work to bring about the demise of our favorite target, the Crow.
While we have to wait to shoot, Paul and myself have already started the preseason warm up. Past couple years our area in general has been hit with a late freeze wrecking the pecan crop. Yet again, the Midwest got hit with another late freeze and of course our immediate concern went to the pecan crop. Turns out, Mother Nature missed the pecans this year and we may have a bumper crop situation on our hands. So, until the season opener we will continue on with our strategy sessions hoping to get an edge on Mr. Crow.
Hey, I'm glad you took a photo "of a dry road" in your neck of the woods. Usually it's gumbo.
So you two doing ok ?
I don't get the itch until early October. When I was your age I had the itch as soon as the season was over looking forward in agony as each month passed.
Demi, from what I hear/read your guns have not been collecting dust like mine, rather been winning championships. Congrats on that. As far as the videos this year, by the end of last season I swore off messing with it anymore. It is a crap load of work and hassle but as season grows near I have been slowly changing my mine.

They don't show up here in numbers until late Oct. but I'm getting the itch. I'm in the process of making sure all equipment is up to snuff. Like my partner says. "Ya gotta be ready to strike when the iron is hot".
I need a dang camera man with a short, real short memory and who will work really cheap. You run across anyone fitting that bill send them my way. As you Randy, I have been rummaging through the gear and the cameras are still in the mix for now. My luck the one time I dont drag them out, me and Paul will whack them good and I will hate myself forever for it.

Crows are gathered up in the the hundreds and soon thousands here in Prairie Canada. Had a really good spring and early summer but a ridiculous hot dry summer kept me for the most part away. Starting to shoot again, shall post a few pics soon...

I read the posts in the wrong order and inquired about this very subject. Looking forward to it, Ted. Get after 'em.
The videos have always been awesome. I have rewatched most of them. Good to hear the pecan crop is good your way. I am just a couple hours or less West of you. Our crop looks good here too. I am ready for the day to get here. I need to shoot something other than a clay target.
