Paul requested that I had some “places to hold stuff” to the blind and like a good partner I obliged his request.  Picture below

Scott,  glad you liked the video.

I run full chokes in all of my guns including the 28ga. and also have a full choke in my sons Winchester.  Paul usually runs a modified but he broke out a new choke on this hunt and it is an improved-modified.

Dale, I misspoke the other day on the choke, although I did add an improved modified to my tool box, I was using a light modified with #8 shot in the video and I was quite happy with the results.

Great job on the hunt and video. Looks like the rust is coming off from the long lag since last season. You should have some epic upcoming hunts. Keep after them!

Demi,  the rust is off for the most part.  I was pretty happy I decided to drag the camera out on this one because man these crows commit 100% to the set up.  Everything seemed to go right on this hunt which is rare from my experience and we both shot well to boot.

Dale,

I noticed that you have started wearing a face mask. Do you think that (along with the new blind) made a difference on the crows committing? And the sentry decoy on the pole didn't hurt either. They definitely came in nicely.

Demi,

I think you might have mistaken me for Paul, he was the one wearing a mask and usually does.  Me on the other hand, I still do not wear one for the coronavirus or crows.  One could say I am a little stubborn and would be accurate in the assertion.  I do credit the new blind with better concealment and more importantly the ability to move my feet and as you no doubt know, feet positioning is crucial in shooting a shotgun.  I missed 7 crows (crows that got away) that hunt, 5 with the 28ga and 2 with the 12ga, also might add that was the only two shots I fired with the 12ga haha.  That is not counting the ones I took two shots to bring down, at any rate I shot around 90% that hunt and the blind no doubt allowed that.

That bunch of crows where fresh as a spring morning, we where set up in the perfect spot, had the flapper going and got a nice wind early in the morning which all added up to a good time.

Dale and Paul make my day.

Some of them would clear the tree, spot you, have an ohhh sh*t moment and flare hard. That's some tough shooting when they're in bayonet range.

Thanks for the effort, Dale. Making a video like that is much appreciated. Keep after 'em.

 Randy

PS: Paul, you're killin' me with that evil laugh.

Paul: New blind, face mask or no face mask, 28 gauge or 12, 101 KIA's, etc.. all that aside in my view for a moment. Save one brief session your weather was perfect, crow trajectory was unhindered by wind, your location in the pecan orchard right behind a nice leaf laden tree blinding many of the birds till they breached the kill zone... was a crow hunters treat to watch! Thanks for the fine demonstration!!

Dale good video as usual.

Shot my 170,000th crow yesterday with Dick. This is in 48 crow seasons. Used the Beretta 391 with a one ounce load of number 8's.

Enjoyed the new videovery much, with the leaves still on the pecan trees do you tryto place decoys in the trees. I noticed the decoy on the fiberglass stick.Care to commit on that,Also liked and agree on the U tube video about shot shell selection for crow.
