Good Evening Everyone! I have followed Crowbusters for many many years. Back in 2000 I ordered 2 "Slayer" crow calls (1 Cedar and 1 Plastic) from the site. I kept the plastic one and gifted the cedar one to my grandfather, who had been hunting crows since he was a child and originally introduced me to crow hunting. We have both used these calls with great success over the years and in our opinion are some of the best to ever to be made. My grandfather misplaced his Cedar Slayer a couple years back on one of our last hunts together and he still to this day is pretty upset about losing it. I thought a good gift for Christmas would be a new Cedar Slayer, even though he cannot hunt anymore (sentimental reasons.) However, when I returned to the site to purchase the call, I did not see them for sale anymore. I reached out to Dough Wigfield (Crowmart) and learned that Slayer went out of business about 15 years ago. Doug went out of his way and checked his own stash but unfortunately was not able to locate one. Thanks for checking Doug!
I am writing because I was wondering if anyone may possibly have one laying around they would be willing to part with, I am willing to pay a premium as long as it is reasonable. If not, then if anyone may have information on who owned the company and where they were out of that would be helpful too. I am determined to track one down. Thanks so much guys!
After some digging I was able to locate contact information for the owner of what was Slayer Game calls. I am going to try and reach out to him directly. He actually lives about 1.5hrs from me. Wish me luck. Thanks!
