On September 14th, Co-Founder and personal friend of over 30 years Doug Wigfield passed away after a long battle with cancer. This is no way to describe the level of contribution Doug has made to our organization. Many may not know this, but Doug was by profession a wildlife biologist and was the leader of task force that brought wild turkeys to the Eastern Shore of MD, a bird that I have hunted many times. He also was an avid Sika deer hunter and created and sold the first and wildly popular call called the "Sika Seducer". On a personal note, Doug and I have had many hunting adventures including Mule Deer in Montana, waterfowl hunting in Canada, and even crow hunting with our very own Bob Aronsohn in Texas. And I can't count the number of turkey hunts and fishing trips we have been on. My loss is profound. Rest in peace my friend, we will meet afield again.
I'm very sorry to hear that. I got a report from him back in May that he was doing OK, but to me it did not sound like the long-term prognosis was very good. You lost a true friend and America lost a true sportsman. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.
