Short barrels
(Preview)
I shoot a old M1 that has several barrels. When I bought the gun many years ago I got it for turkey hunting so I chose the 24" barrel. A few of years ago I bought a 28" barrel for it specifically to shoot crows and pigeons.
I have patterned the gun with both barrels and and the patterns are about the same with a...

A BOAT LOAD of crows.

Dale and I got into a pretty good bunch at a pecan orchard. It was tough shooting but we ended up with 192 KIA. Most of them are in the sled / boat ( see pics )although we had quite a few flame out up to 300 yards away & didn't get retrieved.

Getting the preseason itch?

I have little doubt that I am in the majority here on Crowbusters patiently awaiting that special time of year, the time of year we all hold near and dear to our hearts. This of course, is when the guns, decoys and call are finally drug from their dark resting place for the summer and put back to work to bri...

Raptors as decoys.
(Preview)
Back in the day I used the old standard owl but now use a redtail hawk to rile them up. My thinking was in all my years of hunting and fishing I've only seen crows mob an owl once but I have seen them mob red tail hawks multiple times. I use the same hawk predator hunting also. -- Edited by Nastygunz on Monday 1...

Some of you on here may remember me from times past, it has been quite a while since I have been on the website. For the past few years I have been pretty obsessed with predator hunting and kind of faded away from crow hunting. I was out in the garage doing some cleaning and I was looking at my crow decoys a...

How important is it..
(Preview)
To get into your spot before the morning crows are flying? Would you consider it a waste of time to hunt if you couldn't get to your spot before sun up? This would be just shooting local crows, wooded farm country.

Rob is holding a 33 1/3 record that Bert Popowski gave me in 1976. It is perhaps the last one in existence of him demonstrating how to blow the fighting call and the distress call for his customers. He sold them in the 1940's and 50's for five bucks. Rob is also holding one of the crow calls that Bert sold dur...

72 and a piebald
(Preview)
On the afternoon of 26 Feb. we hunted some inbound crows. They came in well and provided soft shooting until late, when the 10-15 mph wind dissipated. They then stayed high and the shooting slowed up and was tougher. We had 72 down, the sun had set and we began to pack up when we found a piebald near the bli...

Hey all, Our season ended yesterday here in MS. I got out a few times this year but only had one good (for me) shoot. The Great Ammo and Component Shortage of 2021
(Preview)
It's hitting home for a few folks as one poster on a crow hunting Facebook page posted yesterday, "How I am supposed to shoot crows when I can't find ammunition"? I think this shortage is much worse than previous shortages as this affects everything not just powder, 22 and assault rifle ammo. Some day...
