Gotta love the softies.
(Preview)
After coming back from a road trip where the birds had a lot of hunting pressure I hit a local spot near a pecan grove, I usually hit this place in October but I left it alone this year till today. Got set up facing north with a brisk south wind, I was at the edge of a hay field about 500 yards from the grove. I was...

Fall 2021
(Preview)
Hey guys, We had a difficult fall and it led to a slow start on the crows. We managed to get out once at the end of Oct. and battled wary crows. The wind was right but they wouldn't decoy and the shooting was tough. We called it quits with 30, but it was good to be after 'em again. A couple weeks later we got out...

Question for FF5 decoy owners
(Preview)
Do you use the small metal stake provided with the ff5 or do you raise it up some, they seem to react to it fairly well as it is. Just wondering. The old charger from my old Johnny Stewart seems to do a good job of charging my 12v 7ah battery.

White crow sighted.
(Preview)
My hunting partner was hunting alone last week and said he saw a white crow but not in time. It was on the back side of the blind and by the time he got turned around the crow was behind a tree and no chance for a shot. If that won't ruin your day nothing will. I see no posts, everyone quit?

Killed a few
(Preview)
Shot a place we usually do well on an everything was good. Weather light frost and breezy but the majority of birds were fish crows. More than I've seen in this area, probably 200 plus. We killed 68 an being rusty on some of the sportiest wings hooting we've had in a while we shot a very low percentage. In la...

Good Hunt to Start Season
(Preview)
With things being extremely busy at work, scouting and hunting crows have been on the back burner…until this week! On Wednesday I scouted out six orchards or dove fields and found a couple with crows. Saturday was the day, so calling around I caught a friend and his daughter practicing sporting clay...

Should Have Stayed Longer
(Preview)
First time sharing a hunt. This one took place on October 9th. A group of us had been hunting resident geese and noticed a good group of crows cross the property. I thought about waiting a week or so after the resident goose season and then trying a crow hunt here. In fact I could think of little else. The f...

Yet another newbie
(Preview)
Hi everyone! Looking get into crow hunting after deer season this year with my cousins. I have a fox pro that I plan on using and we are ordering some decoys for use in the field that they frequent. For a blind, I was thinking of getting snow camo netting so it is large enough for the 3 of us. For loads we are go...

New Guy here
(Preview)
New member here, and hello to all you crow hunters. I picked up this crow hunting sport late in life, and am starting my 5th season of active pursuit. Took me this long to get off my butt and register for this site instead of just lurking. I’ve shot a few crows since I was old enough to shoot by myself. A yo...

BROKE THE SEAL ON THE 2021/22 SEASON.
(Preview)
So, got a call from a land owner who has a nice stand of pecans and also does a little farming. He plants about a 1,000 acres and his place I have named the Oasis. It sits down in the hills and is a major attraction due to the food source there. I did not get to hunt it last year due to deer hunters not wanting...

Short barrels
(Preview)
I shoot a old M1 that has several barrels. When I bought the gun many years ago I got it for turkey hunting so I chose the 24" barrel. A few of years ago I bought a 28" barrel for it specifically to shoot crows and pigeons.
I have patterned the gun with both barrels and and the patterns are about the same with a...

A BOAT LOAD of crows.
(Preview)
Dale and I got into a pretty good bunch at a pecan orchard. It was tough shooting but we ended up with 192 KIA. Most of them are in the sled / boat ( see pics )although we had quite a few flame out up to 300 yards away & didn't get retrieved.

I have little doubt that I am in the majority here on Crowbusters patiently awaiting that special time of year, the time of year we all hold near and dear to our hearts. This of course, is when the guns, decoys and call are finally drug from their dark resting place for the summer and put back to work to bri...

Raptors as decoys.
(Preview)
Back in the day I used the old standard owl but now use a redtail hawk to rile them up. My thinking was in all my years of hunting and fishing I've only seen crows mob an owl once but I have seen them mob red tail hawks multiple times. I use the same hawk predator hunting also. -- Edited by Nastygunz on Monday 1...

Some of you on here may remember me from times past, it has been quite a while since I have been on the website. How important is it..

To get into your spot before the morning crows are flying? Would you consider it a waste of time to hunt if you couldn't get to your spot before sun up? This would be just shooting local crows, wooded farm country.
