Predator decoys. To buy or not to buy?
(Preview)
This is my first topic, so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I have recently been looking at Crow decoys, but during that adventure I have found a product called 'Primos Sit'n Spin'. I have never seen anyone using a predator decoy like this for Crows. So, naturally, I wanted input from the pro's on...

Crow hunting has become too popular in Minnesota
(Preview)
Gentlemen, I am a Newbie to this forum. I need some ideas of how to cope with the changes that have taken place in Minnesota. I read with a twinge of jealousy about the style of crow hunting in other parts of the country. For many years, my old hunting buddy, sportswriter L.P. Brezny and I had wonderful du...

Here are a few more very recent photos. The piebald crow was shot last week. I think you will like the crows feeding by the circle irrigation system.

A Hard Lesson Learned
(Preview)
Was asked by a landowner to help him out with his dove field that had been overtaken by crows. The guy I shot with last week made the connection, so the two of us checked it out Wednesday morning. This was another high-fence dove field of 20 acres. It was the nicest high-fence job I've seen, with perfec...

Looking through the various Hate Mails on the site I noticed they are very dated with the newest one's being over 5 years old. Just who on the site was getting them and writing the humorous and well written responses, and why did they stop?

Calling in Feeding Set Up Question
(Preview)
I was wondering what you guys used for a calling strategy in a feeding set up. We hunt a cornfield and use mostly Bob's light feeding sounds like recognition call, come here crow etc and use it fairly sparingly. Whenever you see it crows coming in front a distance towards the decoys or start to crow...

Piebald crow this morning along with an addicted 10 year old
(Preview)
Well we went this morning and my 10 year old got a new mossburg 20 guage youth model for an early Christmas present. He killed 3 out of the 17 we killed. One of the ones he shot happen to be a piebald. I think I was happier for him than he was. Needless to say he is hooked.

Got Asked The Question Again
(Preview)
While at a party last night the host and a (liberal) friend I haven't seen in awhile came up to a couple of us while we were discussing crow hunting. He asked me what kind of hunting we were talking about, so I told him Crow Hunting. The look on his face was one of bewilderment. He gathered his thoughts,...

Call with deeper tone
(Preview)
"Santa" left me a nice Gibson Short Magnum call today. He had clearly been by the CrowMart on his way here. I now have two good calls, counting the Faulk. I was hoping the Gibson would have had a lower pitch to it than the Faulk, but it is a bit higher. Which of the good quality calls will give a dee...

I May Have Broken The Fish Crow Defense Code!!
(Preview)
After years of studying methods for hunting the elusive fish crow, I may have stumbled onto something that works. Not only are fish crows very wary, but they flock and fly very high... usually out of effective gun range. Unless you can drop one or two, they stay high and are very frustrating to deal w...

OK Skip, Here is Your Friday's Report!
(Preview)
Last week I got a call from a friend who has a high-fenced dove field adjacent to his house. Pete was complaining about the crows eating the sunflowers, as the high fence keeps out the deer, but not the crows. I scouted the field and found a good spot near where they were feeding, but it was rejected by P...

Soy Bean Hunt

Shot approximately a 400 acre picked bean field surrounded by 700 acres of picked corn. These are large wide open fields which have posed problems with us and did so today. Crow hunting

I have a pecan orchard that is reasonably small, but it is the only pecan orchard within 80 miles, we get crows early morning and they stalk and stare from a hillside not to far away across from a river. A common crow at the zoo!

I took my two little friends to the zoo today, ages 10 and 12, both girls. They had a crow there that would caw like a normal crow but when the domestic geese started sounding off the crow would mimic the geese and sound just like a goose! It was very interesting to observe this as the crow did not have anothe...

Gibson crow calls

About a week ago I received my first Darrell Gibson crow call. It is the Short Magnum call, and it is a beauty! I have been practicing with it, and within 1-2 minutes I quickly realized that I have never had a crow call that was so easy to use, and sound correctly. I'm not much of a manual crow call performer,...
