A question for someone with experience tracking the crows. last year while traveling about 30 miles from home to a deer hunting spot i would notice a lot of 2 , 3 & up to 5 bird groups feeding along side a state Hwy for roughly about a 5 mile stretch. they are already there first thing in the morning. the...

Slow season, few crows
(

(Preview)
The NH fall crow season started on 8/15 and we are more than a month into it. Crows this year are noticably fewer and further between previous seasons. I have yet to go out and not get a shot at a bird but too often that is all that it has been. I have taken 71 birds thus far (and the 10ga, full choke and #6 shot...

I cannot wait....but I have no choice!

Last year was a bust-the worst yet but not a complete loss...anytime I go I get to watch different hawks and usually a bald eagle or two..various migrating "tweety birds" whom I noticed never leave the safety of the stone wall with the trees forming a kind of wall but you could still see approaching crow...

So, first my apologies for being such a long time since my last report.
I had been tremendously busy doing repairs on the farms, trying to catch up on 40 years of no servicing and repairs, except what seems to have been emergency repairs that then became permanent until I arrived.
Then during TB testi...

Crow hunting tips and techniques

Hello, If you are an accomplished crow hunter please share your setup, best times of day, and how you attract them within shotgun range. My son and I have just started and had some pretty good success. I'm not sure if we are over calling or getting them too excited too early. We seem to always get 1 or 2 out o...

If there is one thing I enjoy, it’s watching a good shooter pull the trigger. If there is one thing I enjoy even more, it’s seeing good shots from a ShotKam video! I saw something I have never seen before

I saw something I’ve never seen before. I was driving across town on a fairly busy 4 lane road and I saw a crow sitting on power line that crossed the same road. It is unusual for crows around here to sit on utility wires.. As I approached from ~300 yards the crow spread his wings and felll over backwards wit...

First Crow Season - Fails
(Preview)
Here are a few photos and stories from my first season of deliberately going after crows. Started with some decoys and an owl. Spread around in an old sheltered farmstead like this. A sentry was placed up on the canopy of the old trusty 4020 tractor. Time of day was roughly 3:30 or maybe 4:00pm.

Crow hunting question
(Preview)
Hello, So hunting crow's has recently peeked my interest. Ive had minor success killing 3 this weekend. I'm wondering if once you get the crows to come in and fire at them a couple times if the surounding birds in the area will be shy to the calls or if they won't be bothered by it cause they werent shot at? I...

Looking for a good owl or hawk call for my hand calling. Any recommendations? I’m not sure if anyone makes high quality calls like the Gibson or malardtone calls. I’ve seen the primos and some other mass produced calls but never heard anything good about them.
