Busted again !
(Preview)
I saw quite a few flying over my place yesterday. to busy with the cows to do any shooting so i thought i would plan a pre dawn ambush for today. The crows around here are trained well so i thought i would try something different. Had everything set up as you see including 4 dead crows positioned on the brush...

Setting a sentry!

is a sentry a must when setting Up? I’ve not been setting up one and have been killing. Seems like it scares the birds when I put one up. Needs opinions

Calling it a year
(Preview)
Time to move on to other opportunities (crappie) as the crows put it on me this season. As I posted this year We were unable to find good numbers and in most cases areas that have produced consistently we're almost without crows. We ended killing 338 on 7 hunts compared to 910 last year and 1104 year befo...

Hunting from a tire blind
(Preview)
Five years ago next month, my buddy Rick and I were desperate and we hunted from a blind built out of tires. Rick died the year after this hunt. He was one of the greatest friends I ever had. He is missed by many of us. Saturday, my buddy Isaac and I are going to hunt in this same place in the tires. We'll hav...

I went on my first crow hunt the other day and had ablast. I think I like it as much as waterfowl. We killed 101 in about 6 hours. The guy I was hunting with had out about 50 decoys and electric caller. What electric caller would you recommend without breaking the bank? Where is a good place to buy decoys? I...

Mouth calls in cold weather
(Preview)
I have tried 3 different mouth calls and they sound great inside but I live in northern NY and after the first couple blows of the morning they seem to be freezing up. Am I doing something wrong or is it there a better option? I have tried keeping them tucked in my coat but not always an option.

Crow hunting tips and setups
(Preview)
I am new to crow hunting and have been out a couple times but have only gotten lucky my first time with 4 crows. I have about 30 DIY made crow decoys and a primos alpha dog. I usually call them in but I don't get too many to come in or the scouts come in then leave and don't come back with more crows. I usually hun...

Howdy everyone, I'm new to the forum and crow hunting (but an avid hunter of 30 years) and am hoping to glean info to get some good shots going. I'm having trouble finding the flyway out of my nearest roost, downtown Des Moines. 1000s roost, but seem to disappear before leaving city limits. I got invi...

Had a great hunt this morning over a tilled bean field where I had seen quite a few birds this week. Could have been better had we not had a big thaw the last 3 days.

Hi guys, new to the forum, but not new to crow hunting. Just wondering what some of your favorite CROW loads are... Why am I missing?
(Preview)
Hi all, I am a new hunter and new to crows too. I was out today, successfully called in several crows and missed 6 times! I am using A 20-gauge shotgun with an improved-cylinder choke, 7/1/2 shot. I lead a bit on each shot. What am I doing wrong? Wrong choke? I am guessing the shots were about 40-50 yards awa...

Looking to upgrade call

Looking to upgrade my call. I have a firestorm right now. I have an external sp55 that I hook to it for crow hunting. It works great, but I don't really care for the tx9 remote. And I wouldn't mind having a bit more volume at times. I would like to stick with the tx1000 remote.
I am looking at the shockwave a...

Plenty of action in Maine

Opening day of Maine Winter/Spring crow season today. We took down 23 birds. We saw a lot in southern Maine for this early. I think the extreme cold snap we had for a couple weeks after Chistmas pushed a lot birds out of the north country. The odd thing about today is how the birds came in, it was always lar...

Nov 2017-Jan 2018 TX Crow Shoots
(Preview)
What a way start the New Years day, a shoot in peanut field yielded over 200+ birds! Shoot resulted in 13 triples, 1 quad, and 1 two-fer (2 birds 1 shot). I will have a hard time beating that in shoots to come! The shoot was 4-miles from a roost and just a hand call and decoys were used. The pecan orchard shoot...

Peanut Crows
(Preview)
One of our best shoots ever! We have had higher TBC's a dozen or so times over the years but given the incredible weather ( NO wind, temps in the low 40's, overcast sky ) plus perfect hides and a huge field of peanuts full of feeding crows! Couple all of this to the stunning performance of the "crow magnet"....
